Day 34 (part 2) - in Spring Lake at Kennan Marina - August 9, 2011

Although we had planned to spend another night anchoring in Stahl Bayou, as the day progressed the wind picked up and we decided that heading to a dock was a better idea.  Because of all the changes in wind direction since we had set the anchor, it appeared that we did not have a great anchor set.  Instead of worrying about it all night, going to a dock seemed like a better decision.

We ended up staying at Keenan Marina which is at the southwest end of Spring Lake (across from Barrett Boat Works where we stayed previously).  Keenan’s is a great marina – the staff is great and the facilities are beautiful.  This is a marina where we would consider getting a full season slip when we complete our Loop (not that we have any idea what will happen once we “cross our wake”, but we are keeping our eyes open for places we like and Keenan’s is definitely one of them).
