Day 26 - White Lake to Muskegon - August 1, 2011

We began August with a move from White Lake to Muskegon.  It was a nice 17 mile trip in warm sunny weather.  The wind was light, but there were some left over waves from the previous day.  Muskegon Lake is much more industrial than the other lakes we have stopped at.  There are factories and industry around the lake in addition to marinas and homes.  The channel into the lake is extremely wide as it was built for freighter traffic.

We are staying at Harbor Towne Marina which is just to the south once you clear the channel.  This is a beautiful condo and marina development.  The docks that are used by transients are those that aren’t owned or those on the ends of the T-docks.  We are staying here for three nights.

Fred and Mark went for a walk in the evening.  They walked past the Great Lakes Naval Memorial and Museum and out to the breakwall.  We plan to visit the museum either Tuesday or Wednesday.
