Day 361 – at Ilion Marina, Ilion, NY - July 1, 2012

We have decided to stay at Ilion Marina for an extra day to allow our friends John and Rosemary from Midland to join us and then travel on the Erie Canal with us.  This gives us a day to get some chores done; the first being a trip to Wal-Mart to purchase a new camera.  About half way through yesterday’s trip the old camera stopped working.  I turned it on and nothing happened, changed the batteries and still nothing happened.  Fred examined it and pronounced it dead.  We had the camera for over fifteen years, so it was probably due to be replaced.  We were able to find what we were looking for at Wal-Mart (plus a few groceries).  Then it was back to the boat for real chores – washing the boat, washing the fenders (they get VERY dirty in the locks), cleaning the interior of the boat and doing laundry.

John and Rosemary arrived in the early evening bearing pizza from our favorite Midland pizza place, Pizza Sam’s.  The pizzas were partially cooked and required just a few more minutes in the oven and they were perfect – what a great taste of home.  We are excited to have John and Rosemary on the boat for a few days – it is always fun to show people what the Great Loop is all about.
