Day 342 – at Canyon Club Marina, Cape May, NJ - June 12, 2012

We decided to stay one more day in Cape May.  It is definitely not a day to travel outside in the ocean because of high winds (which also means high waves).  Adding to that, rain showers are predicted for most of the day.  We don’t want to travel inside on the NJ Intercoastal (NJ ICW) in the rain because that makes visibility very difficult and poor visibility it the last thing you want when you are travelling this section of the intercoastal.  The NJ ICW is notorious for its shallow spots and its winding, convoluted path – and that doesn’t even cover the bridges which need to open so we can pass or the numerous “no wake” zones.

It was a good decision to stay in port today as it was rainy and nasty all day.  The highlight of the day was a delicious dinner at the Lobster House (one of the restaurants recommended by Rich) with Something Special and Glory Days.
