Day 331 – Dividing Creek to Chesapeake Yacht Club, Shady Side, MD - June 1, 2012

As is often the case, weather dictates our departure and we are anchor up and headed out of our anchorage at 6:30am.  The forecast is for wind and thunderstorms to build this afternoon and we want to be safely tied to a dock well before all that starts.  We are staying at the Chesapeake Yacht Club for the next couple of nights.  We are able to stay here because we still belong to our yacht club in Bay City and this club grants reciprocal privileges.  We have to pay for our dock (at a much lower rate that the marinas in the area), but we get access to their clubhouse, pool and dining room.  This is a beautiful yacht club with well landscaped grounds and a really nice clubhouse.  From our brief stay so far, we would say that this is the kind of yacht club where we would like to be members.

As predicted the wind picked up and thunderstorms blew in.  We had a great dinner in the club and then relaxed on the boat, watching the lightning and listening to the rain.

Bloody Point Bar Lighthouse - the authenticity of the stories
that give this lighthouse its name are questionable, but
the name is still awesome

these cargo ships are waiting for their turn to go into the harbor at
Baltimore - the AIS showed eight ships waiting, some south of the
Bay Bridge and some north
