Day 268 – anchorage at Morrison Island to Boathouse Marina, Palatka, FL - March 30, 2012

Today was another lovely day on the St. John’s River.  Since we didn’t have a chance to walk through the town of Palatka when we were headed up the river, we decided to do that when we got in today.  Unfortunately, Palatka appears to be suffering the same fate as many of the towns we saw along the Illinois River – there is a downtown area that looks like it was once a great place to visit and shop, but now most of the stores are empty and abandoned.
