We
spent Sunday crossing things off the “to do” list. Fred changed the fuel filters on the engine
(versus the Racor, pre-filters which are the ones that get changed more
often). If we’re lucky this will fix our
engine’s “sound” problem, if not, we may be calling a mechanic. We’ll know more next time we run the engines
under load. We also worked on paying
bills, rinsed the salt water off the boat and relaxed a bit. In the early evening all the Loopers staying here
at Canyon Club Marina got together for a pool party – the group included crews
from Salt ‘n Sand, Passport, Mary Francis IV, Something
Special, Glory Days and Boreas.
Rich and Carol’s daughter and her husband and one of the couple’s they
cruise with also joined us. Good
friends, good conversation, good drinks and good munchies!
Rich
and Carol have generously allowed us to use their car while we are here in Cape
May so on Monday crew’s from Mary Francis
IV, Glory Days and Boreas headed off to explore the Cape
May Lighthouse, a World War II Lookout Tower and the shops in Cape May. After our touring we made a stop at the
grocery store, so we are now ready to depart (if only the weather would cooperate!).
Fred
continues to keep a careful eye on all his favorite wind and weather
sites. It is definitely not looking good
for an off-shore trip up the coast, so we may give the New Jersey Intercoastal
a try. Only time will tell.
