Day 337 – Rock Hall, MD to Skipjack Cove Yachting Resort, Georgetown, MD - June 7, 2012

We had a beautiful day for traveling today.  The north end of the Chesapeake Bay where we are traveling now is quite narrow – more like a wide river than a bay.  There was a light chop when we started, but it was almost glassy by the time we got to the Sassafras River.  I think the Sassafras River is one of the prettier rivers we’ve travelled on in the Chesapeake.  We are starting to see more hills and there are some steep banks along the river – I just find the scenery that comes along with hills to be more beautiful.

We made some calls while we were traveling today to check fuel prices and dock availability in Georgetown.  The fuel prices were higher than in Delaware City (where we will be stopping next), but everyone had slips available.  So when we got to Georgetown we cruised past all the marinas and picked Skipjack Cove – their docks looked nice and they were a ways away from the bridge and the road traffic.  We are further away from town, but with all the errands we did yesterday, that works out just fine.

            Miles: 35.6      Bridges: 0        Locks: 0

we had a strong current going with us for most of today's trip
