Days 88 & 89 – at Island Cove Marina on Chickamauga Lake - October 2-3, 2011

We rented a car this morning and drove into Chattanooga with John and Rita to tour the Tennessee Aquarium.  The aquarium has both fresh water and salt water displays.  They have an excellent set-up where they take you to the top floor of the aquarium on an escalator and then you walk your way back down, winding your way through the exhibits.  My favorite exhibits were the sea horses and the penguins.

We then dropped John and Rita off at Enterprise Car Rental and departed Chattanooga for Powder Springs, Georgia (northwest of Atlanta) to visit our friends Tom and Barb.  It was a short two hour drive to their house and we enjoyed seeing them and catching up.  I sure hope we didn’t bore them to tears with stories of our adventures so far.  It was not a long visit and just one night off the boat, but when we got back, we both commented that we missed our boat and our bed on the water.

not all the animals at the aquarium are fish (not to mention fish are hard
to photograph) - these are two Hyacinth Macaw's fighting over a box of peanuts
