Day 92 – Lowe Branch anchorage to Blue Springs Marina - October 6, 2011

We had a short day today, going from our anchorage to Blue Springs Marina.  This marina was recommended to us by a Platinum Looper (that’s someone who has gone around the Loop more than once) we met at Goose Pond Marina.  The marina is indeed an excellent place to stop.  It is in a large embayment and very quite.

John and Rita caught up with us today.  They left Island Cove Marina two days after us so they could spend extra time in and around Chattanooga.  We didn’t think they would catch up this quick as they had long days to get here.  We chilled a bottle of wine for their arrival and had steaks ready to put on the grill.  A relaxing dinner on Boreas was just what we all needed.

We are thoroughly enamored with Watts Bar Lake.  The shoreline is beautiful and the lake is dotted with lots of small islands.  If there was a bit more granite showing on the islands we would think we were in the North Channel.  This is definitely a place we could see ourselves spending time at in the future.
