Day 380 – Campbellford, Ontario to Hastings Village Marina, Hastings, Ontario - July 20, 2012

It was another beautiful day to travel on the Trent-Severn Waterway.  We left the wall in Cambellford just after 8:30am, hoping that we would arrive at our first lock after the first group of the morning had gone through.  We misjudged the timing by a bit so we tied up at the blue line to wait.  Once we were in the lock, everything went very smoothly.  We worked our way through three regular locks and a two lock flight (as well as the beautiful rivers and lakes in between locks).  There are lots of cottages along this stretch of the Waterway and I am jealous of the wonderful views they have and the beautiful water they live on.

After we cleared the flight lock, we stopped for lunch and a walk to Healey Falls.  It has been very dry here, so there isn’t that much water going over the falls, but it was still enough to make it worth the walk.  A few miles later and we locked through our last lock of the day and made our way to Hastings Village Marina.  Since we have internet access here, we caught up on our e-mail and our blog reading (we follow a number of blogs written by Loopers we have traveled with).  We also spent time looking over tomorrow’s route and doing planning for the next few days.
