Day
400 finds us in Killarney, Ontario. We
may be here for several days as we wait for the winds to blow themselves
out. There are gale warnings scheduled
for both Lake Huron and Georgian Bay over the next few days and we prefer the
security of a dock in those conditions.
Since
Day 400 is a pretty big milestone, we’ll give an update of trip statistics, but
first a few “where were we on…”. On day 100 we were on the Tennessee River in
Soddy Daisy, Tennessee at Shady Grove Harbor.
On day 200 we were in the Florida Keys at Sombrero Marina in
Marathon. On day 300 we were on the
Atlantic ICW at Morehead City Yacht Basin in Morehead City where we had just
helped Once Around celebrate the
completion of their Loop. And on day 400 we are where Georgian Bay and the
North Channel meet in Killarney, Ontario at Roque’s Marina.
In
400 days we have traveled 5325 nautical miles using 3000.1 gallons of diesel
fuel. We have navigated through 115
locks (including two lift locks and one marine railway) and under 658 bridges. We have traveled through 16 states and one
Canadian Providence. As we look at the
chart we have on the salon wall in Boreas
that helps us mark our Loop progress, we are astounded at where we have been and
equally surprised that our Loop adventure is coming to a close.

Congratulations on Day 400! My husband and I have been following your blog for a a couple months now. We found you the blog Once Around. We are really enjoying your journey and pictures.
ReplyDeleteWe are reading your blog with interest because we have a Carver 396. We are amazed and impressed with the mpg that you are getting.
We live in SE Michigan and boat in Lake St Clair. We are planning a two week trip north next summer. Not too sure how far we'll get; but it sure would be nice to get that kind of fuel economy.
Have a good week/weekend. Marie Holmes
