Days 174 through 179 – at Snook Bight Marina - December 27, 2011 to January 1, 2012

We have had a very relaxing week here at Snook Bight.  We have stayed close to the boat all week as the holiday crowds have really invaded Fort Myers Beach.  During an evening walk with Mac, we encountered backed-up traffic on Estero Boulevard – the traffic was backed-up almost 4 miles!

We are enjoying the pool here and try to swim as often as possible.  We are still trying to get used to the beautiful weather we have been experiencing.  We have had many days in the low 80’s.  The “cold” days have been in the 60’s.  Some evenings have been a bit cooler, but for people from Michigan it has been marvelous.

We took a dinghy ride in the back-bay (the bay behind Estero Island) on New Year’s Eve.  The homes on the island along the bay are beautiful and the mangrove trees along the mainland side are amazing.  We will do more exploring next week when there is less traffic on the water – we are hoping that the holiday crowds will dissipate a bit by then.
