Departure day finally arrived. We had hoped to start a couple of days earlier, but had some tasks at home that had to be completed before we left. We got enough done over the last two days and so we headed out at 7:00am this morning from Bay Harbor Marina in Bay City heading toward East Tawas (44 nautical miles away). There were a few waves for the first half of the trip and then down to flat calm for the last half. We arrived at the State Dock in East Tawas at 12:15pm.
We did have to work through a few bugs with the electronics - we added some additional functionality over the winter and it took a bit of set up to get everything working. We think it's fixed, but we'll know more tomorrow.
